BRBC BLOG: Happy Women's History Month! Week 4 Spotlight: Crystal Engram

Happy March, everyone! It is Women's History Month and the BRBC's Women's Leadership Network has teamed up with Bridgeport's Downtown Special Services District to honor some of the women impacting our community (there are many!) We will also be co-hosting a virtual panel discussion with these women on March 31. Now to introduce Crystal Engram.

Women's History Month - Spotlight on Local Women - Week 4: Crystal Engram
March 22, 2021

In 2004, following a Women’s Spiritual Conference, Crystal had a revelation that she was afraid of being successful! She knew that not everyone in her circle was meant to join her on her journey. She then made a decision to be more intentional on her career path.

A graduate of Hunter College and University of Bridgeport, she has been the Director of Human Resources and Equal Employment Opportunity at Greater Bridgeport Transit for over a decade. She is also the Immediate Past President of Bridgeport Rotary. Over the years, she has been selected to present various leadership topics to transit professionals from around the world and has received several awards for her work in the transit industry. Most notably, the Rosa Parks Leadership in Diversity Award from the Women's Transportation Seminar and most recently, Mentor of the Year Award from the Women’s Mentoring Network.

Crystal serves as a volunteer and board member for several agencies, including the BRBC’s Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce and others, whose mission is to improve the community, the lives of women, children and others who are often under represented.

Crystal is no longer afraid of success and her daily mission is to encourage the success of others.
