Happy March, everyone! It is Women's History Month and the BRBC's Women's Leadership Network has teamed up with Bridgeport's Downtown Special Services District to honor some of the women impacting our community (there are many!) We will also be co-hosting a virtual panel discussion with these women on March 31. Now to introduce Chef Mona Jackson.

March 8, 2021
Chef Mona Jackson is the Founder and CEO of Cook and Grow here in Bridgeport. She loves to cook so after graduating from culinary school she opened up her first Panini Cafe. Over the years, Chef Mona created Cook and Grow, a non-profit organization to teach intercity youth life skills and healthy eating for the youth along with gardening. She was awarded the Food Hero Award by the Bridgeport Food Policy Council. Cook and Grow has been featured in Fairfield Magazine and just recently Black Chef's Culinary History. When former Top Chef contestant and Chef instructor Chris Scott from the Institute Culinary Education in New York, was asked about who has influenced them in the food world, he chose to speak about Chef Mona Jackson.
