The One Coast, One Future Initiative conducted six areas of activity with the overall goal of increasing economic vitality through increased regional cooperation.Through the research, collaborative planning, and regional implementation of six strategies, the interconnectedness and One Coast, One Future concept were highlighted and expanded. The first phase of the grant was completed at the end of 2006, and the second phase ended in the fall of 2008. The grant is continuing through a final third phase. The initiatives

21st Century Talent (focusing on underserved workforce populations)
Many of these initiatives continue the work done in the first two phases of One Coast, One Future, but the objectives have been refined to meet the needs of the Coastal Fairfield County Region.
